Human Resources Coordinator

The HR Coordinator supports the employee experience through the administration of key HR processes, compliance programs, onboarding activities, and employee records management. This role works closely with HR Business Partners, HR Generalists, leaders, and employees to ensure accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and a high level of service throughout the employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, templates, and process documentation.
• Ensure employee records and HR documentation are accurately maintained within HRIS systems and personnel files.
• Prepare, review, and track HR documents, agreements, and compliance-related records.
• Manage document retention and archival processes in accordance with company policies.
• Respond to employee and leader inquiries and manage the HR shared inbox.
• Conduct new hire orientation and support onboarding activities.
• Generate and distribute recurring HR reports and workforce data.
• Administer unemployment claims and related documentation.
• Support employee outplacement programs and retention agreement processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor law posting requirements across all locations.
• Partner with HR team members on special projects and department initiatives.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma and 4-6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting HR operations, HR administration, or employee services functions.
• Knowledge of HR recordkeeping, compliance processes, and document management.
• Experience handling sensitive and confidential employee information.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with HRIS platforms; familiarity with SuccessFactors is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, error-free work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience supporting onboarding and employee lifecycle processes.
• Knowledge of employment documentation, retention practices, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in a process-oriented HR environment preferred.
• SuccessFactors experience preferred.

Work Environment:

This is an onsite position located at Battelle's Columbus, Ohio headquarters. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative HR team dedicated to delivering an exceptional employee experience while supporting compliance and operational excellence. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
