CDOC - Parole Risk Assessment Case Manager (Denver Metro)

Conduct initial assessments and analyze results of individuals released on parole to identify criminogenic risks and needs. Review criminal history, institutional records, and supervision information to inform assessments. Conduct structured interviews with parole clients to gather assessment information. Apply validated assessment scoring protocols and interpret results. Document findings and assessment outcomes. Provide structured case planning recommendations to assigned parole officers. Recommend appropriate interventions aligned with risk and need levels. Serve as a resource to supervision staff regarding assessment interpretation. Input assessments and related information into the designated electronic database, maintaining accurate case notes and documentation. Ensure compliance with CDOC documentation standards. A1A1XX – CORRECTIONS CASE MANAGER I

Minimum Qualifications Experience Only: Three (3) years of professional experience in corrections, case management, counseling, parole/probation, social services, specifically involving case management, risk assessment, or behavioral health interviewing as your primary assignment. Education and Experience: A combination of a related degree (Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or similarly related field) and experience equal to three (3) years. Required Competencies Ability to read and comprehend the English language. Ability to effectively communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing. Ability to create accessible documents and technical content that follows plain language guidelines with accessibility in mind. Self-control, a strong sense of ability to work in stressful, potentially violent situations. Ability to remain alert, emotionally stable, and mentally resilient under pressure. Tolerance to stress, confinement, and high‑stakes interaction. Significant interpersonal/customer service skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Highly effective critical thinking, decision making, and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and prioritize. Keen ability to multi‑task and demonstrate flexibility. Strong self‑motivation. Established proficiency in position‑related office technologies. Compelling attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience administering structured risk assessments. Knowledge of evidence‑based supervision practices. Experience in treatment services, community corrections, probation, or parole. Familiarity with CST or similar assessment tools. Strong interviewing and analytical skills. Conditions of Employment Must be 21 years of age. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record. Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a successful background investigation. Must meet physical requirements for defensive tactics, including lifting, kicking, striking, and resisting full‑body impacts. Must be willing and able to travel, work various shifts including nights, and operate in outdoor or concrete settings. Must be willing to undergo corrective training including exposure to Oleoresin Capsicum.
