This full-time position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting and the opportunity to provide essential mental health services to clients in Haverstraw, New York. Our counselors engage in both telehealth and in-person sessions, allowing for a comprehensive approach to care tailored to individual needs.

Our outpatient office operates under a remote model, allowing flexibility and work-life balance for our team members. Our clinic is open from 7 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, which allows for varied scheduling options to meet both staff preferences and client needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history, developing personalized treatment plans that focus on recovery and resilience.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to the individual needs of clients.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions where patients can process their trauma, develop coping mechanisms, and foster healing.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care for clients, ensuring holistic treatment approaches.
\n
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, exhibiting calmness and competence in tense situations.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and effective coping strategies, guiding them through available resources.
\n
• Maintain precise, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring accurate representation of client progress and treatment outcomes.

• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities centered on trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and developments in trauma therapy to incorporate new techniques into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a counselor at Atascosa, you will work with a diverse client population, predominantly individuals who have experienced trauma, stress, and anxiety. Your expertise in trauma-informed care will be pivotal in helping clients navigate their challenges and support their journeys toward recovery and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMHC in New York State.
\n
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment methodologies.

• Experience with evidence-based therapy approaches and a willingness to work with couples is a plus—training provided.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach toward client care.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

• Self-motivated and able to maintain timely documentation, completing notes within 24 hours of sessions.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:
