Job Summary:
The organization seeks a registered nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology at a healthcare facility in San Francisco, California. This position involves providing comprehensive inpatient oncology care on a medical surgical floor, supporting a patient census of approximately 90 patients daily across multiple cancer types including genitourinary, gynecological, head and neck, breast, gastrointestinal, and neurological cancers.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, with shift start times variable.
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, outpatient oncology experience preferred, completed references required at time of submission, ability to float to other healthcare provider facilities within a 75+ mile radius.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification, Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC), Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON), Neonatal Intensive Care Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, Outpatient Oncology certification, Pediatric Oncology certification, Radiation Oncology experience, Inpatient Oncology experience, Pediatric Oncology experience.
• Additional Information: The role requires proficiency with Epic charting system, experience managing ports, administering chemotherapy and radiation therapy, monitoring medication side effects, and recognizing abnormal lab values. Flexibility to float across units and facilities is essential. Orientation hours are 40, and the start date is August 18, 2026. The candidate must have prior charge experience and be compliant with vaccination requirements including COVID-19 and flu vaccines, unless exempted for medical or religious reasons.
• Travel & Float Requirements: Travel experience required; resources may be reassigned within the specified radius as needed.
• Other specifics: Modules are non-billable, with varying hours by specialty; start date adjustments may be made with prior approval from the project manager.
