Work Environment

The physical therapist will work onsite in our outpatient office located in Babylon, New York. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and limitations, followed by developing tailored treatment plans to address their specific needs.

• Utilize diverse therapeutic techniques, such as exercises, manual therapy, stretching, and the use of specialized equipment to alleviate pain and improve function.

• Monitor patient progress meticulously by tracking treatments, documenting responses, and adjusting plans as necessary to meet evolving therapeutic goals.

• Advise on the procurement and fitting of assistive devices to support patient mobility and self-care, optimizing their independent living potential.

• Provide essential training for patients and their caregivers in the use of assistive devices and therapeutic exercises, ensuring they are empowered to continue their treatment at home.

• Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge by attending workshops, engaging in continued education, and participating in relevant professional organizations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Edge, you will primarily work with children facing mobility challenges due to various injuries, surgeries, or disabilities. Your expertise will enable you to create individualized approaches that promote their recovery and restore their confidence in their physical abilities. You will play a pivotal role in not just rehabilitating, but also advocating for the ongoing care and improvement of their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required; a Master's degree or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.

• An active state license in Physical Therapy is mandatory to practice in New York.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with electronic health records and documentation processes.

• A commitment to professional development and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, outpatient care environment.

Preferred Experience

• While prior experience in a pediatric setting is advantageous, it is not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Experience in home care settings is a plus, providing a broader understanding of patient needs outside the clinical environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Edge Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary range of USD 50,000 to 75,000 yearly, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide an extensive benefits package that includes:
