Principal Engineer Hybrid Cloud Operations

Kaiser Permanente seeks a Principal Engineer for Hybrid Cloud Operations to lead the architecture, automation, and reliability of its hybrid cloud environment. You will design and operate scalable, secure platforms spanning on-prem and public cloud, using Kubernetes, containers, and Infrastructure as Code. Partnering with engineering, security, and product teams, you'll implement CI/CD, observability, and incident response best practices. This role mentors engineers, sets cloud standards, and drives continuous improvement to support mission-critical healthcare systems at scale.

Responsibilities

Lead design and operation of Kaiser Permanente's hybrid cloud infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
Implement automation, Ia
C, and CI/CD to streamline deployments and reduce manual operations.
Define and enforce observability, monitoring, and incident response practices for production systems.
Collaborate with security, product, and engineering teams to meet compliance and resilience requirements.
Mentor engineers, set technical standards, and drive continuous improvement across cloud operations.
Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of cloud and on-prem resources.
Develop runbooks, best practices, and documentation for hybrid cloud operations.
