About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP for Life and Annuity Risk to join its independent Enterprise Risk Management organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Life and Annuity Risk and Model Risk Management Teams in second-line risk oversight of a significant long-term reinsurance business. This role is pivotal in ensuring a comprehensive risk management framework that aligns with the company's business strategy, reserving, and capital. The VP will have the opportunity to shape the evolving risk management framework and will be involved in managing the risks associated with implementing models for large and diverse blocks of new business. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' of related experience with long-term insurance liabilities, strong life and annuity and financial modeling experience, and ideally be a credentialed actuary or have deep expertise in insurance ALM projections. Deep knowledge of life and annuity insurance/reinsurance, ALM, and capital frameworks is essential, as is a strong understanding of market, credit, and insurance risks affecting long-term liabilities. The role also requires experience in managing multiple stakeholders, including subsidiary/parent relationships, and proficiency in various software packages commonly used in actuarial practice. The VP will be expected to have strong analytical skills, collaborative abilities, and the gravitas to manage risk issues across long-term businesses.
