Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis to support clinical development functions across disease areas. This Boston-based role involves financial performance management, budget planning, analytics development, and cross-functional collaboration within the finance organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage financial performance processes including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for clinical development functions
- Build analytics and reporting to support investment decisions, forecast accuracy, and financial risk tracking
- Lead process improvement initiatives across the finance organization
- Provide proactive financial direction and insights on key value drivers and business KPIs to clinical leadership
- Coordinate with CFO organization members on process optimization and efficient cross-functional execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field
- 6+ years of financial experience with strong technical and analytical capabilities
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency; Hyperion or multidimensional database experience
- Business intelligence and data visualization tools experience preferred
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and industry trends
- Strong written and verbal communication with collaborative mindset
Compensation: $116,000-$174,000 base
