Senior Lead Software Developer - Python & AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experience
• Advanced proficiency in Python, object-oriented design, and modular software architecture
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance cloud-native services in AWS
• Hands-on experience with AWS EKS, ECS, MSK (Kafka), SQS, and S3
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
• Expertise designing, deploying, and supporting production distributed systems
• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, and Splunk
• Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and scalable system design patterns
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and secure software engineering
• Demonstrated use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and operational support
• Understanding of responsible AI use, application security, resiliency, and compliance requirements
• Experience mentoring engineers on software engineering best practices
• Preferred: Knowledge of distributed-systems reliability patterns, including resiliency engineering, self-healing architectures, backpressure management, and idempotency
• Preferred: Experience optimizing real-time and event-driven architectures at scale, especially Kafka-based systems
• Preferred: Experience implementing end-to-end observability, automated operational runbooks, and proactive monitoring
• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud CI/CD practices, canary and blue/green deployments, and release automation
• Preferred: Familiarity with Generative AI and LLM technologies, including building solutions that use AI/LLM platforms

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade Python services and APIs for enterprise-scale machine learning platforms
• Architect and implement high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in AWS for critical business workloads
• Build and manage cloud-native applications using AWS technologies, including EKS, ECS, MSK, SQS, and S3
• Develop reusable service frameworks, shared libraries, and modular components to accelerate engineering delivery
• Create infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform and CloudFormation to support repeatable, auditable deployments
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions using platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, and Splunk
• Deploy and support production applications while meeting service-level objectives and agreements
• Apply secure-by-design practices, automated testing, and deployment approaches such as blue/green and canary releases
• Review code, provide architectural guidance, and mentor engineers in software engineering best practices
• Work with product managers, platform engineering teams, and site reliability engineers to deliver scalable solutions aligned with business needs
• Promote enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, operational excellence, troubleshooting, and delivery efficiency
