This individual will work within Epic work queues, reviewing operative reports and clinical documentation to ensure compliant and accurate facility coding.ResponsibilitiesCoding ambulatory surgery and observation encountersReviewing operative reports and assigning appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codesAbstracting clinical and demographic data into hospital systemsEnsuring coding compliance with CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and AHIMA/AAPC standardsSelecting APC assignments and validating claim readinessCollaborating with physicians and clinical staff to obtain clarification when neededSupporting emergency department and outpatient diagnostics coding as volume dictatesMaintaining departmental productivity and quality standardsSkillsoutpatient coding, EPIC, Facility Coding, Certified CoderTop Skills Detailsoutpatient coding,EPIC,Facility Coding,Certified CoderAdditional Skills & QualificationsRequiredCompletion of an AHIMA or AAPC approved coding program4-5 years of recent hospital-based outpatient coding experienceFacility coding experienceCertified coder credentialAcute care hospital experiencePreferredEpic experienceEmergency Department coding experienceOutpatient diagnostics coding experienceExperience cross-covering multiple outpatient work queuesBroad procedural coding experience across multiple specialtiesExperience LevelExpert LevelJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
