J OB SUMMARY

We are looking for a licensed Respiratory Therapist for who is seeking their next exciting opportunity in a complex and ever-evolving work environment! In this role, you will be responsible for assessment of patient/client needs for equipment and the selection, instruction, and troubleshooting of appropriate equipment and/or services provided to meet those needs. Employees hired into this position must be comfortable with providing in home patient care, as needed! 

Territory Coverage : This position will support a variety of Georgia locations. The employee must be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory and provide coverage for area branches as operational needs dictate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive and document the orders for equipment and/or services from the referral source, physician, patient/client, family member, or caregiver.
  • COMPLIANCE: Patient care staff are responsible for maintaining compliance tasks daily (e.g., patient utilization, improvement, check ins/follow ups, documentation, resolution, task lists, etc.).
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including handling paperwork, filing, and managing correspondence; addressing client complaints or concerns and escalating complex issues when necessary. 
  • Train and assist with overall daily operations of Respiratory Therapy including vents, intake, coverage, and quality assurance at existing and new locations.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the assigned territory and provide coverage for area branches as operational needs dictate.
  • Must be flexible and willing to assist with staffing coverage at various locations, when peers are out due to continued education, vacation, leave, etc...
  • Collect additional information and/or authorization as needed. 
  • Assess the needs of the patient/client and the best choice of equipment and/or services to meet the needs of the patients.
  • Involve the patient/client and/or family, caregiver in the selection process.
  • Instruct patients/clients in the proper use and care of equipment according to the written policies and procedures for that equipment.
  • Communicate with the patient's/client's physician on changes in patient's condition and/or needs and carry out adjustment to the patient's/client's Plan of Care/Treatment.
  • Rotate to various branches to support the business and patients, as business needs dictate.
  • Track and maintain follow up on preventative maintenance and schedule visits for respiratory therapy equipment assigned to clients.
  • Assist with scheduled visits of clients receiving oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Complete patient/client accounts paperwork, including Plan of Care/Home assessments.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and the patient/client, family, caregiver, physician, and other healthcare agencies and staff on the case.
  • Conduct, participate and attend educational meetings and seminars for healthcare workers, patients/clients, families, care givers, physicians, and interested community members on areas of need.
  • Assist with arrangement of necessary referral to community agencies or for those traveling, to assist in continuity of care.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans for agency patients/clients.
  • Assume full responsibility for actions, professional skills, and attitudes.
  • Support the organization by being loyal and informing the branch manager of areas of concern and problems to be resolved.
  • Keep cognizant of third-party reimbursement, criteria services, billing, patient/client paperwork and equipment offered.
  • Must be willing to work after normal business hours and on weekends.
  • Oversee all clinical functions that are performed by the company.
  • Perform all job functions with Company Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements in mind.
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to take on extra tasks as necessary.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High degree of integrity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Respiratory care experience and/or home care experience in the field of respiratory care.
  • Thorough knowledge and skills related to Home Medical Equipment field.
  • Ability to effectively manage all respiratory products provided by the company.
  • Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people resulting in constructive working relationships.
  • People-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and internal staff.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, manage records, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in data collection and record-keeping.
  • Customer Service Skills: Providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive client experience.
  • Time Management: Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to cater to diverse customer base.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with relevant software, scheduling tools, and data entry software, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

SCHEDULE

  • Full-time positions require a 40-hour work week. 
  • Hours: Generally, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
  • This position does have an on-call rotation. 
  • Overtime as needed with OT pay!

 

NON-PATIENT CARE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Includes Accounts Receivable, Finance, Compliance, HR, Oversite, and SR Executive Leadership (CEO/COO) : Physical demands associated with this position may include sedentary work to light work in an office setting. Requires prolonged sitting at a desk and frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and phone for various office-oriented tasks. Must be able to walk/move throughout the office to meet with staff. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of office files or light equipment up to 10–20 lbs. is required. High manual dexterity and clear verbal communication skills are essential.

 

PATIENT CARE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  (Includes all operational and patient-facing positions) : Physical demands associated with this position may include sitting, walking, driving, standing, lifting, carrying, maneuvering equipment, and walking up and downstairs. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently (e.g., portable oxygen concentrators and nebulizers). This may include frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs while carrying medical equipment. Must have ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch to plug in, set up, or troubleshoot equipment. Manual dexterity including fine motor skills required to manipulate small medical components (such as cleaning tubing). Ability to safely operate a vehicle throughout shift, including frequent entry and exit of the vehicle. Must be able to work in various conditions and lift equipment in all-weather types.
