WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

Oversees the complete payroll lifecycle, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time across multiple companies
Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations while managing payroll reporting and filings
Serves as the primary payroll resource for employees, HR, Finance, and leadership by resolving payroll questions and discrepancies
Ensures accurate administration of garnishments, deductions, employee benefits, and timekeeping data
Supports audits, maintains payroll records, and identifies opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and overall efficiency
Plays a critical role in maintaining employee trust through accurate, confidential, and compliant payroll administration

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

5+ years of progressive payroll experience with responsibility for full-cycle, in-house payroll processing
Experience managing payroll for multi-state and/or multi-entity organizations, preferably supporting 500+ employees
Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, garnishments, employee deductions, reporting, and payroll compliance
Experience partnering with HR and Finance on employee benefits, payroll reconciliations, and payroll-related reporting
Proficiency with payroll software, ERP systems, timekeeping systems, and advanced Excel skills
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical abilities, and the ability to manage confidential employee information
Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to resolve payroll issues professionally across all levels of the organization
Construction, engineering, infrastructure, or project-based industry experience is a plus
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience); CPP certification is a plus
