Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and screen students for mental health needs to design individualized treatment plans that address their specific concerns.

• Deliver short-term individual counseling sessions, offering crisis intervention support to students experiencing various challenges, including stress, anxiety, and personal crises.

• Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops that focus on essential topics such as resilience, coping strategies, and personal development, thereby creating a sense of community among participants.

• Collaborate with campus partners such as academic advisors, residential life staff, and student organizations to create a holistic support network that addresses the differing needs of students.

• Participate in outreach initiatives and prevention programs, organizing mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events to promote mental well-being across the campus.

• Maintain accurate and secure patient records while adhering strictly to ethical and legal guidelines in practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on college students, who often face unique pressures related to their academic and social environments. You will be tasked with understanding and addressing the diverse mental health issues these students encounter, including stress management, interpersonal relationships, academic performance, and transitional struggles.

Qualifications\n

• A current and active license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is essential to qualify for this position.
\n
• A solid understanding of the psychological and emotional challenges faced by college students and the ability to apply evidence-based practices effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building rapport with students and working collaboratively with a diverse campus community.

• Experience with brief therapy models that are particularly relevant in a university counseling center setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years’ experience providing counseling services in a school or counseling center setting, with familiarity in working with adolescent or young adult populations.
