We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Family Law Paralegal with exceptional writing and drafting skills to join our legal team. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable supporting attorneys in a fast-paced environment and managing complex, high-conflict, and high net-worth family law matters. This position requires someone who can work independently, maintain professionalism under pressure, and handle sensitive matters with discretion. The individual may staff more than one attorney. If you work well independently, can maintain and handle a high volume of cases, have an outgoing personality and a can-do approach to any task, we'd love for you to join our team!Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, edit, and file legal pleadings and correspondence with strong attention to detail.Prepare and organize financial affidavits, equitable distribution inventories, child support worksheets, and alimony documentation.Assist attorneys in the preparation of child custody, support, and divorce-related pleadings.Coordinate and manage deadlines for discovery, financial disclosures, and court filings.Support case strategy and trial preparation by organizing exhibits, trial notebooks, timelines, and case files.Maintain frequent communication and coordination with clients, opposing counsel, paralegals, and court staff.Schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings.Draft and respond to attorney and court emails and correspondence professionally and promptly.Meet with clients one-on-one and coordinate case management.Utilize the firm's practice management software to handle client interactions and billing.Attend firm-wide meetings and take an active role in the growth of the firm.Required QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of family law paralegal experience (North Carolina experience preferred).Working knowledge of Wake County and/or Durham County local court rules and procedures, and familiarity with Family Court operations in Wake, Durham and/or surrounding countiesStrong legal writing, research, and communication skills.High level of proficiency with legal software, Microsoft Office, and document management platforms.Familiar with time billing and law firm CRM platform, such as Practice Panther, Clio, etc.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.Experience handling high-conflict custody cases and/or high net-worth divorce cases is strongly preferred.Ability to calmly and professionally assist individuals experiencing stress and emotional situations.Associate or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or other relevant certification is preferred.Pass interview and/or other skill testing.Preferred Traits :Common sense and sound judgment.Professional demeanor and positive outlook.Fun to be around.Empathetic and calm under pressure.Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented.Committed to client service and confidentiality.Must be a team player!Appellate experience is a strong plus!Benefits: Paid Time Off; 401(k) Plan; Health Insurance reimbursement plan; Paid CE fees; Paid holidays; Leave early on Fridays!Salary commensurate with experience.
