Accounting Manager

Overview

A top-tier specialty construction firm with a national footprint, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Manager to join the Mid-Atlantic division. This is a pivotal, hands-on role ideal for a proactive and adaptable professional who thrives in a dynamic environment.

The Accounting Manager will oversee core financial operations, from general ledger management, financial reporting, and cost accounting to budgeting and payroll. This position demands a strong grasp of U.S. GAAP, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate across multiple departments.

Location: Baltimore, MD

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise accurate and timely accounting transactions.
• Perform in-depth account analysis and reconciliations.
• Lead month-end close process and ensure U.S. GAAP compliance.
• Prepare and review key financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Provide cost accounting analysis and WIP.
• Engage in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of progressive related experience in a construction environment
• Experience managing teams of 5+ accounting professionals.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and project-based accounting practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
