Work Environment\n

This role is embedded within a community health clinic setting, allowing you to interact with fellow mental health professionals, educators, and other specialists. While most of the work can be done remotely, collaboration on case management and team meetings will involve both virtual and in-person interactions. The typical work schedule includes Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts and rotating weekends required. Some on-call availability may also be necessary to respond to urgent needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored for students, identifying specific needs and developing personalized treatment plans.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual therapy sessions and group therapy focused on emotional regulation, coping strategies, and personal growth.

• Engage in collaborative case management with educators, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to create a cohesive support strategy for students within the school community.

• Facilitate psychoeducation sessions for students and their families, providing valuable insights into mental health conditions and available resources.

• Deliver crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, employing effective communication and intervention techniques to stabilize situations.

• Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and interventions in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in continuous professional development opportunities, team meetings, and case conferences to foster a culture of learning and growth.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily serves elementary to high school-aged students who present a variety of mental health challenges, including those with ASD, ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma histories. You will work closely with students and their families to understand their unique situations, fostering an environment that promotes mental well-being and integration within the educational setting.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Valid LCSW licensure in the state of New York.
\n
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and trauma-informed care.
\n
• Proficiency in conducting thorough mental health assessments and developing effective treatment plans.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

• Ability to implement evidence-based therapeutic practices with a focus on group and individual therapy.

• Experience in crisis intervention and a calm demeanor in high-stress situations.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer literacy.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two or more years of post-licensure experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting.
