About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead the strategic direction and optimization of its operational functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient, safe, and effective distribution of food and resources across the organization's service area. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the organization, with a focus on strengthening operational systems, championing continuous improvement, and ensuring readiness to respond to both everyday needs and large-scale disasters. The VP of Operations will lead a high-performing, cross-functional team and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement sustainable strategies, manage budgets, and drive change initiatives. Key qualifications for the role include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 5-10 years of progressive operations experience, and a proven track record in fleet management, warehousing, transportation, food distribution, inventory control, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced, growth environment. Responsibilities also include recruiting and mentoring staff, managing the company's project portfolio, and ensuring that all operational activities are in line with the organization's mission and sustainability goals. The role demands a leader who is adept at problem-solving, and who can work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, government and civic leaders, and the network of community partners.
