This opportunity is ideal for an experienced RN with strong clinical judgment, assessment, and patient-prioritization skills.
Charge Nurse experience is highly preferred, with opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• 36 hours per week
• FTE: 0.9
• Weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements to be discussed during the interview
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6

Pay Range

• Base pay: $33–$54 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
• Night shift differential: Additional $6.00 per hour for eligible hours
• Weekend differential: Additional $10.00 per hour for eligible hours
• Evening differential: Additional $3.30 per hour for eligible hours
• Holiday differential: Additional 50% of base pay for eligible holiday hours
• Differential combinations are subject to employer policy.

Sign-On Bonus

• A retention incentive schedule is listed for eligible inpatient night-shift RNs in designated units:
• • 6 months: $1,500
  • 1 year: $4,500
  • 2 years: $10,000
  • 3 years: $14,000
  • 4 years: $10,000
• Potential total: $30,000 over three years or $40,000 over four years, subject to eligibility and employer terms.

Responsibilities

• Assess adult medical-surgical patients and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and escalate concerns promptly.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with clinical standards and policies.
• Administer nursing treatments and perform point-of-care testing as required.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families about treatments, health management, and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate discharge planning and support continuity of care.
• Prioritize competing patient needs in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
• Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and unit education.
• Promote teamwork, patient safety, and a positive clinical environment.

Requirements

• Current North Carolina RN license or eligible multistate compact RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of current Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Nursing diploma, ADN, or ASN from an approved nursing program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
• NIHSS and CPI-A requirements must be confirmed during screening.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work night shifts in a dynamic inpatient environment.
• Charge Nurse experience highly preferred.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Previous leadership, preceptor, or team coordination experience is an advantage.

• Pay-in-Lieu-of-Benefits (PLB) arrangement may provide an additional 20% for part-time employees or 30% for full-time employees, subject to eligibility and classification.
