Sales Solutions Engineer

Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 + bonus opportunity (OTE of $160,000 or more / uncapped)
Location: Hybrid -Omaha, NE or Remote - United States The job: As a Software Sales Solutions Engineer at Buildertrend, you'll help construction professionals solve real business challenges with technology that keeps projects moving and teams connected. You'll partner with sales teams and prospective customers to understand how builders work today, then show them a smarter, more efficient way to manage projects, communication and profitability. Your ability to connect technical expertise with real-world construction workflows will directly influence customer growth and long-term success. In your first year, success means becoming a trusted advisor who helps customers confidently adopt solutions that improve how they build. What you will do:
Location: Hybrid -Omaha, NE or Remote - United States The job: As a Software Sales Solutions Engineer at Buildertrend, you'll help construction professionals solve real business challenges with technology that keeps projects moving and teams connected. You'll partner with sales teams and prospective customers to understand how builders work today, then show them a smarter, more efficient way to manage projects, communication and profitability. Your ability to connect technical expertise with real-world construction workflows will directly influence customer growth and long-term success. In your first year, success means becoming a trusted advisor who helps customers confidently adopt solutions that improve how they build. What you will do:
- Partner with sales team members to identify customer needs and recommend software solutions that align with construction workflows and business goals
- Lead product demonstrations that clearly show how Buildertrend helps contractors improve communication, efficiency and profitability
- Consult with prospective customers on software configuration, integrations and customization options to support their day-to-day operations
- Build strong relationships with customers by serving as a trusted technical resource throughout the sales process
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing and Customer Success teams to share customer feedback and influence future enhancements
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity, customer interactions and forecasting details within Salesforce
- Facilitate biweekly product roundtables and stay current on software updates, construction technology trends and emerging tools
- Embrace using AI as a tool to enhance your work, while remaining open to learning, applying critical thinking, and owning the quality of your final work
- 5+ years of experience in software sales engineering, sales support or consultative solution selling required.
- Must be a current SEM, AE or Senior KAM to apply (for internal applicants only).
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction industry workflows, operational challenges and software solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Experience leading software demonstrations and presenting tailored solutions to prospective customers.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and customer relationship management skills.
