Salary $122,530 to $159,286 per year Appointment type Permanent Work schedule Full-time Duties SummaryThe United States Marshals Service (USMS) is the nation's oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement agency. The missions of the Service include protection of the judiciary, court security, witness security, asset seizure and forfeiture, apprehension of fugitives, prisoner transportation and custody.JUDICIAL SECURITY DIVISION / ARLINGTON, VAResponsibilities This position is located within the Judicial Security Division's Office of Protective Intelligence (OPI). The OPI is the USMS's preeminent expert in identifying, investigating, analyzing, assessing and mitigating threats against USMS protected persons, facilities, and events. The OPI's core function is to organize, train and equip the USMS Protective Intelligence Program and to direct, manage, and oversee its execution. The OPI performs these core functions by leveraging the protective intelligence cycle to ensure all threats are investigated thoroughly and mitigated fully in a timely fashion and by providing direct support to USMS Districts to this end. The OPI ensures mitigation primarily through a combination of traditional and cyber investigative support, application of analytic tradecraft throughout the protective intelligence cycle, and provision of counter-surveillance, surveillance detection, and surveillance support. The OPI's Threat Information Sharing and Analysis Center (TISAC) is the USMS's central repository, coordination, and analysis center for all threat information, assessments, and investigations. This position's incumbent will supervise the day-to-day activities of the TISAC personnel and will be responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing the collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination of protective intelligence related to the safety and security of USMS protected persons, facilities, and events.Duties include but are not limited to the following:Supervising research and analysis in order to determine the degree of threat.Supervising the preparation of intelligence reports.Supervising the use law enforcement databases to retrieve intelligence information.Exercising full supervisory responsibility over subordinate positions.Planning work to be accomplished; establishes priorities and assigns work to subordinates OPEN SOURCE INTELLIGENCE, FUSION CENTER, AND INTERAGENCY EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED Travel RequiredOccasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. This position is a Testing Designated Position and subject to random drug testing May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period. May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period. Shift work is required and to included weekends. This is a mission essential position. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance with SCI security eligibility.
