Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite in our Outpatient Rehabilitation Office in Newburgh, allowing you to work closely with our dedicated staff and patients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical conditions, utilizing assessment tools and methodologies to understand functional limitations and rehabilitation potential.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at achieving specific recovery goals while enhancing overall mobility and function.
• Administer therapeutic techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation to alleviate pain and improve physical capacity.
• Track and document patient progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on the outcomes and feedback observed.
• Collaborate effectively with your interdisciplinary team, discussing patient progress, addressing challenges, and ensuring cohesive care that enhances patient outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding home exercise programs, self-management strategies, and resources for ongoing support post-discharge.
• Adhere strictly to facility protocols, state regulations, and professional best practices to ensure the highest standard of care and safety.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with a diverse patient population including elderly residents, individuals recovering from surgery, and those dealing with chronic conditions. Our aim is to create customized rehabilitation plans that cater to the specific needs of each resident, focusing on improving functional mobility, strength, and overall health.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• An active and unrestricted license to practice Physical Therapy in the state of New York.
• Completion of clinical internships, showcasing hands-on experience in rehabilitation settings.
• Strong clinical skills paired with effective communication and interpersonal abilities, essential for patient engagement and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• A compassionate, empathetic approach to therapy, fostering trust and confidence with patients.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist, specifically in skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, or similar environments.

Compensation and Benefits
