Work Environment\n

This position is remote and is uniquely situated within a school setting, allowing for connection with students in a structured environment. Working hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the potential for occasional evening shifts, weekend rotations, and on-call responsibilities. This flexibility ensures that support is available during times of heightened need, enabling you to address crises as they arise.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the psychological and emotional needs of students.

• Developing individualized treatment plans that focus on enhancing mental wellness and facilitating integration into the school community.

• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored for students with ASD, learning disabilities, emotional disorders, and trauma.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering personal growth, emotional regulation, and effective coping mechanisms.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of educators, therapists, and professionals to deliver holistic care and ensure a comprehensive approach to each student’s needs.

• Providing crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, offering immediate support and assessment.
\n
• Educating students and families about mental health conditions, available resources, and coping strategies to enhance overall community awareness.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participating in team meetings and professional development activities to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on students with diverse special needs who may struggle with various emotional and behavioral challenges. Many of these students may experience difficulties related to their individual learning profiles and emotional health. Your role in providing tailored interventions will be critical to their success both academically and personally, helping them thrive in their educational journeys.

Qualifications\n

Candidates must possess the following:

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
\n
• Two years of post-licensure experience preferred, demonstrating a solid background in mental health counseling.
\n
• A thorough understanding of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and trauma-informed care practices.
\n
• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments and formulating treatment plans that address individual student needs.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
