Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (Development Finance Business Partner)

Position OverviewBicara Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director of FP&A to lead full P&L consolidation and reporting. Additionally, this role will serve as a finance business partner to the Development team, providing critical financial support to R&D pipeline activities and global manufacturing/CMC/supply chain operations.This role is based in our Boston office and follows a hybrid schedule, with three in-office days each week.ResponsibilitiesFull P&L Consolidation and ReportingServe as system administrator of financial planning & analysis software (Adaptive Insights - Workday), including managing consolidations of operating expenses for budget, reforecast, and actualsLead and continuously enhance the monthly budget-to-actuals process company wide, providing meaningful analysis and insights to business leaders. Serve as a proactive finance partner to identify performance trends, challenge assumptions, and drive cross-functional initiatives that improve forecasting, resource allocation, and operational efficiencyLead preparation of full P&L budget to actual reporting for executive team, Audit Committee, and Board of DirectorsManage timelines, templates, and tools for FP&A month-end close and company-wide budgeting and reforecasting processesLead preparation of cash flow forecast to support cash runway planningIdentify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate planning processes and reporting, including system enhancements within Adaptive InsightsFinancial Business Partner for Development (Clinical Operations, Technical Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory & Program Management)Partner with functional leaders to build budgets, reforecasts, and long-range plan inputsSupport timely analytics and reporting to drive budget accuracy/accountability and identify key drivers of variances to budget, highlighting potential risks and opportunities to estimatesEnsure consistency between functional planning assumptions and financial projectionsTranslate complex clinical & manufacturing/supply chain concepts and related financial impact to senior management level narrativesQualificationsBS in Finance/Accounting6+ years relevant experience with at least 2+ years as a finance business partnerFP&A experience in a commercial biotechnology or pharmaceutical company preferredStrong financial modeling & reporting experienceDemonstrated experience as a collaborative and effective business partner working with senior leadersAbility to distill complex operational and financial topics to management-level narrativesStrong attention to detail and ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to operational team membersTeam player who will offer optimal solutions to intricate issuesCan work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team and with external partners/vendorsAbility to shift priorities rapidly in dynamic biotech environmentExperience with financial planning software (e.g. Adaptive Planning)Expert in Excel, Word and PowerpointAlignment with Bicara core valuesCompany OverviewBicara Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech company pioneering bifunctional antibodies for targeted tumor modulation.
