Position Summary:
The HR Generalist serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, supporting the organization through a balanced combination of full-cycle recruitment and comprehensive HR generalist responsibilities. This role partners closely with leadership and hiring managers to effectively staff the organization while also providing day-to-day HR operational support, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR reporting. The position plays an active role in benefits administration, payroll coordination, and related reconciliation activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across HR transactions. With a hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive approach, this individual independently manages priorities, follows through on commitments, and serves as a reliable extension of HR leadership while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and employee experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage full‐cycle recruitment for exempt and non‐exempt roles, from intake meetings through offer and onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to define hiring needs, role requirements, and recruiting strategies
- Create, update, and maintain job descriptions that accurately reflect job duties, competencies, and compliance requirements and ensure job requirements and job descriptions remain current and accurate for all positions
- Partner with management to clarify role expectations and ensure job documentation aligns with organizational needs and legal standards
- Post and manage job openings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support selection decisions
- Develop and maintain job-related screening and interview questions aligned with role requirements to support effective and compliant candidate evaluation, partnering with hiring managers as needed
- Conduct structured, compliant interviews using recruiting and selection tools, and provide consultation and training to hiring managers to ensure consistent, lawful interviewing and selection practices
- Create a positive, high‐touch candidate experience throughout the hiring process
- Develop talent pipelines for frequently filled and hard-to-fill positions
- Prepare, draft, and extend offer letters to selected candidates, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards and applicable employment laws
- Maintain and update offer letter templates and related documentation to ensure they remain current, standardized, and legally compliant
- Ensure background checks are initiated, monitored, and completed in accordance with company policy, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Track recruiting metrics and provide updates on time‐to‐hire, pipelines, and hiring outcomes
- Support workforce planning and ongoing talent initiatives
- HR Operations & Generalist Duties
- Serve as a point of contact for general HR inquiries, providing timely and accurate support to employees
- Provide day-to-day support to HR leadership, serving as a trusted partner and assisting with priorities, projects, and decision-making as needed
- Support the management and resolution of employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action, and performance improvement processes
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, documentation, and coaching conversations
- Assist with the administration of FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Maintain accurate employee records using ADP software, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data
- Gather and analyze HR metrics, such as employee turnover rates
- Assist with benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HR transactions through ADP
- Ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices
- Prepare and analyze HR reports, using data insights to support decision-making and workforce planning
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of EEO laws and ensure HR practices, documentation, and job descriptions remain compliant
- Support audits, policy updates, and compliance initiatives, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks
- Support HR leadership with HR initiatives and projects as needed
JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Demonstrated working knowledge of HR practices and employment laws, including employee relations, performance management, leave administration, and compliance requirements, with the ability to apply them accurately in day-to-day situations
- Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and complete multiple HR tasks and requests, meeting deadlines without reminders or follow-up
- Consistent track record of following through on commitments, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and communicated in a timely manner
- Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Ability to assess situations objectively and make well-reasoned decisions, knowing when to escalate issues and when to resolve them independently
- Highly detail-oriented approach to HR documentation, communication, and processes, with minimal errors and strong accountability for accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously, shifting focus as needed while maintaining quality and meeting business needs
- Proactive work style, including anticipating needs and identifying potential issues
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage with employees and leadership
- Hands-on experience using ADP Vantage or ADP Workforce Now (highly preferred)
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- At least five (5) years of combined, hands-on experience with substantial responsibility in both Talent Acquisition and HR generalist functions, including independent ownership of core HR processes
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sedentary Work: This role may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Most essential functions are performed while sitting but walking and standing are occasionally required
- Visual acuity is required for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing data
- Requires flexible hours based on executive needs
