We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support an organization in Brentwood, Maryland. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is comfortable managing day-to-day financial records, maintaining accuracy across transactions, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings prior bookkeeping experience and practical knowledge of QuickBooks, along with a strong grasp of both payables and receivables.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate financial records by entering, reviewing, and updating daily transactions in the accounting system.
• Handle accounts payable activities, including reviewing bills, processing vendor invoices, and preparing payments on schedule.
• Support accounts receivable functions by recording incoming payments, tracking outstanding balances, and following up as needed.
• Reconcile bank statements and internal financial data to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist with month-end bookkeeping tasks to help ensure financial information is complete and organized.
• Monitor accounting documentation and keep files current for invoices, payments, and related records.
• Use QuickBooks to manage bookkeeping workflows, generate reports, and support overall financial accuracy.• At least 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or closely related accounting support role.
• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks in a detail-focused setting.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial data entry and recordkeeping.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
