Associate Attorney - Labor & Employment

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate to join its Labor & Employment Practice Group in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated employment litigation, restrictive covenant disputes, wage and hour class actions, labor relations matters, and workplace counseling matters within a collaborative and fast-paced practice environment. The ideal candidate will have substantial labor and employment experience, strong litigation and counseling skills, and the ability to independently manage complex employment matters while maintaining direct client interaction. Responsibilities Represent employers in labor and employment litigation matters in state and federal courts. Handle disputes involving trade secret misappropriation, restrictive covenants, wage and hour class actions, discrimination, retaliation, and related employment claims. Manage temporary restraining order and temporary injunction proceedings. Advise employers regarding labor relations, union negotiations, OSHA matters, workplace compliance, and employment best practices. Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery responses, briefs, and other litigation-related filings. Conduct legal research and analyze sophisticated employment law issues. Manage discovery, depositions, hearings, settlement conferences, and trial preparation responsibilities. Collaborate closely with attorneys and clients on litigation strategy and workplace counseling matters. Maintain direct client interaction and assist with business development and client relationship initiatives. Manage multiple active matters and deadlines in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required. Active New York Bar admission required and must be in good standing, or timely admission required as a condition of employment. 3–4 years of labor and employment experience required. Experience handling TROs, injunction proceedings, restrictive covenant litigation, and wage and hour matters required. Experience with union negotiations, OSHA matters, and employment counseling preferred. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills required. Experience managing discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation required. Excellent interpersonal and client service skills required. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment required. Demonstrated client relationship and business development skills preferred. Strong academic credentials required. Salary up to $290,000.00 Actual compensation is determined based on education, experience, internal equity, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
