Patient Care Associate

Site: The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation Job Summary Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients’ temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within the established time frame and/or as requested. Completes all documentation in the medical record as required. Interacts with patients and their families effectively. Helps patients with basic hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and feeding. Assists patients to turn and reposition themselves in bed and move between bed and wheelchair as needed. Listens to patient health concerns and reports them to the nurses. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support (BLS Certification) Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (Massachusetts) Nursing Assistant (LNA – New Hampshire) Experience Experience working in patient care/elder care 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong patient/customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.
