Senior Lead Software Engineer - Python/AI (Asset Wealth Management)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting; able to set expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security; experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant practices and controls
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including strong Python skills
• In-depth knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with expertise in one or more technical disciplines such as cloud, AI, or machine learning
• Experience applying LLMs, including OpenAI, Anthropic, or other models, to business problems, using workflow tools such as tracing, evaluations, and guardrails
• Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, and statistics
• Ability to independently design end-to-end solutions with attention to modern architecture, scalability, and security
• Expert knowledge of AWS cloud computing
• Knowledge of data management and data model design, including real-time processing with SQL databases such as Postgres and NoSQL stores such as OpenSearch and Redis
• Leadership experience generating AI/ML ideas and developing GenAI-based solutions, with strong communication skills for engaging senior technical and business partners
• Preferred: expert knowledge of a cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes
• Preferred: familiarity with emerging technologies

• Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
• Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas
• Champion firmwide frameworks, tools, and software development lifecycle practices within the engineering community
• Collaborate with firmwide AI/ML teams, business and product partners, geographically distributed peers, and colleagues across Asset & Wealth Management to align efforts, encourage adoption of shared AI capabilities, and deliver impactful solutions
• Architect and implement flagship machine learning and LLM-powered solutions
• Design and build scalable, reliable data-processing pipelines and deploy model inference services
• Experiment with, develop, and productionize machine learning models, services, and platforms, and deploy solutions to public cloud infrastructure
• Promote adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, while encouraging reuse of proven patterns and automation across the SDLC/TLM toolchain
• Apply software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale
