Vice President, Warehouse and Delivery

Vice President, Warehouse And Delivery (Warehouse) The VP of Warehouse and Delivery serves as an integral part of the management team reporting to and supporting the SVP of Warehouse and Delivery Operations. The professional in this position will exhibit strong leadership and team building skills to help propel the company to achieve its goals. This role will partner with the SVP of Warehouse and Delivery Operations to support and maximize effectiveness with all warehouse functions including receiving, stocking, picking, loading, and delivering within a state of the art facility handling 10.2 million cases annually. This critical role will tie together all aspects of warehousing and delivery operations. The successful candidate will have proven abilities and credentials to lead, optimize and troubleshoot various systems, provide guidance to maintenance team and direct day-to-day operations. Our state of the art warehouse is 560 thousand square feet, operating over 3 shifts with 3 Teamster labor unions. The current operations are 10.2 million cases per year, with 10% delivered through third-party transportation. This position will need to create annually budgets and long range plans to support the business needs. Key Accountabilities Leads the personal and professional development of management and hourly associates by ensuring the ongoing evolution of strong training programs and providing opportunities for associates to take advantage of them. Provides opportunities for associates to participate in a wide range of distribution center functional experiences and to work in our various warehouse facilities and departments. Performs periodic honest and forthright one-on-one performance reviews throughout the year, helping direct reports and others construct clear personal and professional objectives, and respond appropriately to developmental opportunities. Details and documents operational changes to solidify a dedicated planning/execution culture within the supply chain organization. Plans long-range to ensure a steady flow of qualified applicants ready to be promoted from within. Prepares both short-term operating plans and long-term strategic plans to ensure both quality service and low cost, continually maintaining established sales, customer service, and delivery expectations. Establishes and maintains staffing and equipment needs for operation, researches new technologies and processes to help the department achieve its objectives more efficiently, and ensures inventory accuracy and controls. Hires, trains, and develops managers and supervisors for the warehouse and delivery operations. Determines and monitors daily production schedule, establishes priorities, and ensures that all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Prepares realistic operating budgets and develops both short and long-term plans. Utilizes and leverages systems to optimize operational throughput, and holds extensive responsibility for identifying and leading implementation of process improvements across the arena. Works closely with a unionized labor force and its representative to maintain a collaborative and cohesive environment, achieve all established service levels for the warehouse and delivery operations, develop and meet annual budget goals and asset protection objectives, and ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures as well as to collective bargaining agreements. Cross-trains all managers to ensure proper department coverage and development, proactively maintains effective communication with all other departments, and works closely with the unionized labor force and its representatives to maintain a clean and safe workplace. #J-18808-Ljbffr Martignetti Companies
