About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - IV start experience - Telemetry experience Description: Weekdays and some weekends are required. Rotating holidays will be part of the schedule. Floating within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity is required. Experience in a lower acuity cardiac unit is preferred. Estimated patient ratios are 1:3. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Candidates must possess skills in IV starts and telemetry. Knowledge of managing arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, and cardiac telemetry is essential. Additional skills include administering blood products and caring for central lines and chest tubes. Candidates should be proficient in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Experience with heparin protocols and managing cardiac drips is necessary. Wound care and management skills are required, including experience with wound vacs. Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various cardiac conditions. Daily census and bed capacity is 30 with interdisciplinary support from various services. Special procedures and care for post-operative patients will be part of the duties. Candidates will be responsible for managing multiple diagnoses, including heart failure and diabetes. This role involves working in a dynamic environment with a range of conditions and procedures.
