The role involves floating to various step-down and PCU areas. There is potential to float to different campus locations. Nursing staff may be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Estimated patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3-4. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Skills required include IV starts and telemetry experience. Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration is essential. Knowledge of cardiac telemetry and central line care is necessary. Experience with chest tube management and feeding tube care is needed. Familiarity with heparin protocols and management of cardiac drips without titration is required. Understanding of dysrhythmia interpretation and isolation precautions is important. Candidates should be able to perform phlebotomy and manage tracheostomy care. Experience with rapid response/code teams is preferred. Ability to manage pre/post procedural sedation and dialysis is also a plus. The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses. This position requires flexibility, as weekend shifts will be assigned based on staffing needs. The candidate must have strong communication and team collaboration skills.
