About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - IV start and telemetry experience required - Patient ratios of 1:3 - Float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity Description: The position requires working weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays are also expected. The nurse will be responsible for managing care for patients with lower acuity cardiac conditions. Experience in a PCU or similar environment is required. Skills required include IV start, telemetry, and managing cardiac drips without titration. Candidates must have experience accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and non-invasive airway management. Additional responsibilities include blood product administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and wound care. Ability to perform high flow nasal cannula management and monitor patients post cardiac surgery is essential. Candidates will be required to have experience in administering medications and managing other patient needs. The unit includes interdisciplinary support from physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates must be adaptable to various patient diagnoses, primarily cardiovascular in nature. Ideal candidates should possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
