Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience required License: Valid state or compact nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - Experience with telemetry - IV start skills - Telemetry experience - Charge experience Description: This position requires working weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays are part of the schedule. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels. Experience in PCU with a focus on cardiac care is preferred. Estimated patient ratios during the day are 1:3. Candidates should have experience in a progressive care unit. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required. Key skills include managing arterial lines, telemetry, and vital sign monitoring. Candidates must be proficient in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips. Knowledge of isolation precautions, managing feeding tubes, and wound care is essential. Patients may present with various diagnoses, including those requiring post-operative care. Successful candidates will be adaptable and able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
