Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Additional Details:

OR RNs only: Application must include either an OR - Circulating or an OR - Scrub skills checklist, in addition to the OR - RN checklist.

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years Med Tele experience in an acute care setting. First-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care. Telemetry experience; post-surgical recovery, PIV skills, central line care, TR bands.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation preferred.

Required Credentials: Traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival.

Special Requests: Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff member. Up to 7 days of RTO allowed; must extend 1 week for every full week requested off. May only request 1 weekend of RTO per 13-week contract.

Unit Details: Medical, surgical, telemetry, CHF, s/p Cath lab (no sheath removal), pacemakers, dialysis, COPD. Non-titrating cardiac gtts: Dobutamine, Cardizem, Heparin. RN ratio: 1:5 days; 1:6 nights. CNA ratio: 1:10 (3 on days and nights). Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week; this is mandatory. No call. Will work 2/3 holidays.

Floating Requirements: Floats to other Med-Surg or Tele units in rotation with staff.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
