Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into an engaging role supporting students in grades 3 through 5 as a School-Based Occupational Therapist within a collaborative academic community. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 10, 2026, and continues through June 8, 2027. Shape student outcomes at the elementary level, serving a caseload of diverse learners, including those with high-level autism, communication challenges, and behavioral needs—thanks to robust district supports and an excellent mentor program.
Your expertise will empower academic and life skills growth, and you’ll have the flexibility to arrange your own schedule each week—coordinating with building administrators to best meet student needs. The therapist dedicates 21 hours per week to direct services within the 35-hour scheduled week, providing both routine and creative interventions.
Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapist (OT) or a strong COTA candidate
- Current, active Maryland license required
- Experience working in elementary or school-based settings preferred
- Strong understanding of autism, communication, and behavioral strategies
- Collaborative, resourceful, and passionate about making a positive impact
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy interventions for students in grades 3–5
- Address academic life skills, functional motor skills, behavioral and communication needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop individualized plans
- Document progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Travel to multiple school sites may be required (to be discussed during interview)
- Utilize district support and mentoring resources to maximize service delivery
