Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a direct impact on the lives of students by providing occupational therapy services in a vibrant, supportive school community near Silver Spring, MD. This contract role is full-time, running from August 10, 2026, through June 8, 2027, and offers the chance to work with elementary students (ages 3 through 5th grade). With four openings available, you'll be part of a collaborative group helping students build essential life and academic skills.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Maryland Occupational Therapist (OT) license (open to considering a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with strong experience)
- Previous experience in school-based OT, particularly with elementary age groups
- Knowledge of interventions addressing high-level autism, communication, and behavioral needs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to inclusivity and positive student outcomes
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted OT services to a diverse caseload of elementary students across multiple school sites (assignments discussed during the interview)
- Address academic life skills, sensory integration, fine motor, and social/emotional needs, with access to robust district support for behavioral and communication challenges
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and district staff to create and monitor IEP goals
- Participate in a mentor program designed to foster professional growth and support for new hires
- Craft a flexible schedule based on your caseload and with building administrator approval (no set daily start or end times)
