Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working directly with elementary-aged students in a supportive school-based setting near Silver Spring, MD. Four Occupational Therapy professionals are needed, with positions beginning August 10, 2026, and continuing through June 8, 2027. This on-site role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners in both individual and group settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Occupational Therapy license (required)
- Experience with pediatric populations, especially ages 3 through 5th grade
- Ability to address high-level autism, communication needs, and behavioral challenges
- Will consider a strong Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Adaptability for a caseload that may span multiple campuses (final assignments discussed during interview)
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary students with varying levels of need
- Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team, supporting academic life skills
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans for students with communication and behavioral needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Set your own daily schedule in alignment with caseload demands and with building administrator approval (no fixed start or end times; 21 of 35 weekly hours are dedicated to direct services)
- Engage with an experienced mentor program and receive support for challenging cases
