Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking dedicated Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) with a passion for supporting young learners. This contract opportunity is perfect for professionals who value flexibility, mentorship, and diverse caseloads while working on site within a collaborative school environment. Four full-time positions are available for the upcoming academic year, offering an engaging chance to make a difference across multiple elementary-age school sites.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Active Maryland OT or COTA license (required)
- Experience with academic life skills and high-level autism strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of communication and behavioral needs in elementary settings
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt approaches to individualized student needs
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement therapy strategies for students in grades PreK-5, addressing fine motor, sensory, and functional skill development
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, support staff, and district mentors
- Collaborate with families and administrators to create the most supportive environment possible
- Adjust caseload and travel between schools as assigned; specific assignments discussed during interview
- Utilize district-provided support for behavioral needs and benefit from a robust mentor program
- Set your own weekly therapy schedule based on caseload needs, with administrative approval, and 21 hours per week reserved for direct services
This contract runs from August 10, 2026, through June 8, 2027, providing the rewarding experience of impacting students at a crucial stage of their academic journey.
