Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and elderly demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observation techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies directed toward immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Implement personalized speech therapy sessions that enhance communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and safe swallowing.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to forge unified care plans.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education to foster progress beyond clinical sessions.
  • Participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions occasionally, ensuring seamless continuity in care across the patient journey.
  • Ensure precise and timely documentation in accordance with all organizational, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing education and collaboration to remain at the cutting edge of speech pathology advancements.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
Certifications
  • Must hold a valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies across all ages, with profound insight into both developmental and acquired language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to tailor therapy modalities to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgement and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record-keeping and documentation protocols.
