Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Assignment Details

Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 Contract Weeks: 13

Requirements

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 6 months of hire or transfer
• One year of acute care experience

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, including triage, treatment, and discharge care for patients in the Emergency Department.
• Conduct accurate triage assessments on all patients and notify the Emergency MD of any abnormal signs and vital signs.
• Review and complete patient orders in a timely manner.
• Provide medication side effects teaching to all patients receiving medication in the Emergency Department.
• Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Interpret ECG rhythms and manage care of patients during life-threatening emergencies.
