RN Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical unit is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. This role involves administering medications and treatments, developing individualized patient care plans, documenting care accurately, and participating in performance improvement activities. The RN ensures patient safety and quality care during night shifts, requiring strong clinical expertise and critical thinking skills. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical surgical environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in Medical Surgical nursing units.
• Participation in performance improvement and shared governance initiatives.

Special Considerations:

• Night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Work in a hospital trauma center environment requiring adherence to strict patient safety protocols.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary team members is critical.

Scheduling:

• Night shift schedule, 12.5-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Shift assignments may include weekend and holiday rotations.
