Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Production Assemblers to join our team. You will be responsible for assembling wire cable assemblies and small wire harnesses from schematic drawings and job orders using hand tools and small hand-held power tools under general supervision. This position offers the potential for career growth and a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
• Remove cable sheathing and jackets.
• Cut conductors to length and apply terminals with crimping tools.
• Strip wires using both hand-operated and automatic wire stripping machines.
• Wire connectors by inserting pre-terminated wires as per assembly drawings.
• Apply wire ties and identification labels onto wires and cables.
• Insert wires and cables through shrink tubing and expandable sleeves, applying heat as necessary.
• Tin wires using a solder pot.
• Install various styles of connector back shells and hoods.
• Layout wires based on drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
• Collect all materials and equipment needed for the process.
• Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.
• Align materials and assemble parts to build complex units.
• Check output to ensure the highest quality.
• Maintain equipment in good condition and keep records of production quantities and time.
• Report issues, malfunctions, or defective parts.
• Sweep the work area at the end of each workday and verify parts in production kits.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills and ability to read tape measures and rulers.
• Ability to read and comprehend schematic drawings, diagrams, and job orders.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, small hand-held power tools, and bench top tools.
• Ability to follow directions verbally or in writing.
• Capacity to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in electronics or assembly is ideal but not required.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to learn and maintain good attendance.

Work Environment

Our open area working conditions include worktables, benches, and storable areas with the absence of disagreeable elements. Temperature is regulated, and the environment is quiet and well lit. Multi-positional chairs with footrests are provided, and additional lighting is available as needed. Generally, the position does not require personal protective equipment, except when tinning, where eye protection is necessary. You may work at different workstations as production needs require or move from one workstation to another during the assembly process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Grove, PA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Spring Grove,PA.
