Billing Specialist

Construction Billing Specialist (Contracts) Location: Costa Mesa (Hybrid) Pay: $42-48/hr Schedule: Temp-to-hire We are partnering with a growing company in the manufacturing space seeking a Contract Billing Specialist to manage project-based billing from start to finish. This role supports complex billing tied to contracts, production timelines, and customer requirements. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle contract billing, including progress billing and invoicing tied to production milestones Review contracts, purchase orders, and change orders to ensure billing compliance, including lien waivers and retainage tracking Partner with project managers, customers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support timely billing and closeout Maintain accurate billing records, support month-end close, and assist with reporting and forecasting Use ERP systems and customer billing portals to submit invoices and supporting documentation Requirements 4+ years of experience in contract billing, manufacturing, or project-based environments Strong understanding of progress billing, retainage, and contract compliance Experience working with customer billing portals and ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite or similar preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines This is not a standard AR role; ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with complex, contract-driven billing in manufacturing or a similar project-based environment.
