Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including:

• Processing, coding, and verifying invoices, expense reports, and supporting documentation
• Ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, including tax ID and purchase order verification
• Maintaining accurate vendor records, including banking details and required documentation such as W-9s
• Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies, miscoding issues, and job cost allocation errors
• Reconciling vendor statements and resolving outstanding balances
• Collaborating with project managers, purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to ensure accurate job costing
• Supporting AP aging reports, month-end close, and subledger reconciliations
• Identifying early payment discount opportunities
• Assisting with audits, documentation requests, and process improvements
• Supporting new system implementations and workflow enhancements
• Performing additional duties as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience required (construction or job-cost environment preferred)
• Experience with systems such as Great Plains or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to change
• Strong professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality
