Director of Maintenance
Facility: Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: $100,000 per year
Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Maintenance to oversee the daily operations of our Maintenance Department. This role is responsible for ensuring the facility remains safe, compliant, well-maintained, and operating efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in building operations, preventative maintenance, life safety systems, and staff supervision.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations of the Maintenance Department.
Supervise, schedule, train, and support maintenance staff.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and life safety regulations.
Conduct routine inspections of the building, equipment, and grounds.
Manage preventative maintenance programs for facility systems and equipment.
Oversee repairs, renovations, and maintenance projects.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, warranties, and compliance documentation.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
Monitor maintenance supplies and equipment inventory.
Respond to emergency maintenance situations and ensure timely resolution.
Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Minimum 3 years of maintenance leadership experience required.
Experience in skilled nursing, healthcare, or long-term care preferred.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems.
Familiarity with nursing home regulations, life safety codes, and compliance standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.
Availability to respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
