Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with school nurses, educators, and parents to assess and meet the urgent healthcare needs of students. Key Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to patient consults, admissions, and routine provider rounds, documenting notes and orders accurately while performing necessary wound care.
• Enter admission and consultative orders in a timely manner, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures, coordinating essential pre-operative protocols.
• Communicate effectively with families and patients to provide updates on care and treatment plans.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations along with billing practices to ensure compliance and confidentiality.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborative care efforts within our interdisciplinary team, enhancing the overall healthcare experience for our patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Nurse Practitioner at Valley Urgent Care, you will primarily engage with a pediatric population, addressing their urgent care needs. This includes evaluating and treating common childhood illnesses, minor injuries, and heightening health education. Your work will not only involve direct patient care but will also encompass wellness initiatives that promote healthier lifestyles among students and staff, aligning with our goal to foster a healthy school environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with a requirement of at least one year of relevant experience in acute care settings.
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York, along with your DEA and NPI numbers.
• Strong knowledge of acute care patient protocols and evidence-based practices.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, fostering relationships with physicians and support staff.

Preferred Experience

• Two or more years of clinical experience working in urgent care or emergency settings.
• Experience working with school-aged children and an understanding of their unique health needs.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate patient documentation and care continuity.

Compensation and Benefits
