Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner in our urgent care clinic, you will be responsible for:

• Providing comprehensive assessments and delivering acute care to patients with a variety of medical conditions.
• Responding promptly to consults, admissions, and provider rounds, including writing notes, entering orders, and managing wound care.
• Facilitating the preparation of patients for surgery and ensuring all necessary pre-operative protocols are followed.
• Communicating effectively with patients and their families, providing updates on treatment plans, and addressing concerns.
• Utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient interactions, manage orders, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations.
• Adhering to institutional policies and contributing to a culture of safety and quality within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus primarily on the underserved student population within the school setting. You will address acute care needs, minor injuries, and common illnesses, emphasizing preventative care and education. Engaging with children and adolescents requires not only clinical expertise but also the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with younger patients and their families.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

• A valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York, along with DEA and NPI numbers.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with preferred Master’s level education in Nursing or a related field.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an urgent care or acute care setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.

• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
