Full-Time Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology at Sun Valley Heart and Vascular

Position Overview

Sun Valley Heart and Vascular is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Penfield, New York. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in the outpatient setting of our Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC), focusing on cardiology. In this vital role, you will contribute to enhancing patient outcomes while being supported by an experienced team led by the Chief Nurse Practitioner and overseen by the Medical Director within the Division of Cardiology.

Work Environment

This role is performed onsite, focusing on concierge medicine and house call services. Our office environment encourages teamwork and communication among multidisciplinary care providers, including cardiologists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and administrative staff. We pride ourselves on maintaining a work-life balance with no on-call hours, nights, or weekends, allowing our healthcare professionals to dedicate their time to providing outstanding patient care during regular business hours, from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cardiologists to create and implement individualized care plans for patients with various cardiovascular conditions.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients dealing with hypertension, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, congestive heart failure, and other acute and chronic heart-related conditions.
• Deliver outpatient Electrophysiology services, including assessment and management of patients with abnormal electrocardiograms and arrhythmias.
• Perform stress testing and interpret the results to inform treatment decisions.
• Provide comprehensive exams and take thorough health histories, ensuring an accurate diagnosis.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patients' responses, making adjustments when necessary.
• Refer patients to appropriate specialists within the organization to ensure comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and their families on heart health management, lifestyle changes, and medication adherence.
• Document all patient interactions and care plans to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Nurse Practitioner in our cardiology division, you will work with a diverse patient population, ranging from younger individuals to seniors, all facing various cardiology needs. Your expertise will directly impact the health and well-being of patients managing chronic conditions, recovering from cardiac events, or seeking preventative care. By focusing on personalized treatment plans and ongoing education, you will empower patients to take charge of their heart health.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, demonstrating a strong foundation in patient-centered care.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Current NP certification and license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
• Proven competency in outpatient cardiology settings is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in cardiac care or a related specialty is highly valued, but new graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
• Exposure to outpatient settings and experience with advanced cardiac technologies will be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 – 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
