Work Environment

This position is located onsite at a school setting in Henrietta, New York, allowing you to interact with a unique patient demographic—primarily students and their families. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments of patients, which include thorough history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
• Engage with patients through various communication channels, both in-person and virtually, to evaluate their health status, address concerns, and make informed decisions regarding their care.
• Consult with supervising physicians and collaborate with specialists to develop individualized care plans based on patient-specific needs.
• Ensure continuity of care by maintaining detailed and accurate medical documentation, and participating in departmental meetings to discuss patient outcomes and quality of care improvements.
• Deliver direct patient care, including preventive services, diagnosis and management of chronic conditions, and education on cardiovascular health, particularly as related to young patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology, you will primarily care for pediatric patients, including children and adolescents, who may present with a range of cardiovascular conditions. You will address issues such as congenital heart defects, hypertension, and arrhythmias. Your role is pivotal in fostering a supportive environment where patients and their families can learn to manage their health effectively. You will also advocate for preventive measures to enhance the overall wellness of our young patients.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a cardiology or primary care setting.
• Certification in a recognized Nurse Practitioner specialty area, ideally with a focus on cardiology.
• Exceptional clinical assessment and diagnostic capabilities.
