Accounting Assistant

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of our accounting department. You will work closely with the club's finance team to maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and assist in various accounting tasks. This is a temporary position providing coverage while an employee is on leave. The anticipated start date is August 24, 2026, and the assignment is expected to last approximately three weeks. The position will not be scheduled to work on Labor Day.

Job Responsibilities:

• Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions.
• Assist in resolving any billing discrepancies or issues with suppliers.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• File and prepare check run
• Monthly vendor reconciliations
• Post daily charge batches
• Print daily credit card batches from ETS
• Inputs F&B inventory& checks prices/ item unity at end of each month
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist the finance team with ad-hoc administrative tasks and special projects.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
• All other duties as assigned by the Controller within a reasonable scope of the position.

Qualification Standards:

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive and confidential information.

• Professionalism, poise, and a positive attitude, even in high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of the country club industry or hospitality sector (preferred, not required).
• Knowledge and passion for golf, golf course operations, or the golf industry (preferred, not required).

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, though relevant work experience will be considered.

Experience:

• Two years in a similar position within a finance or accounting team

Grooming:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per club standards. Professional attire is required.

Other:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
